Governor Spitzer To Detail NY Health Care System Plan January 26, 2007Posted by notapundit in Politics, US News.
ALBANY (AP)–Gov. Eliot Spitzer is proposing to provide health insurance to the hundreds of thousands of children in New York state who currently have no coverage.
In his health care reform agenda being unveiled in Albany Friday afternoon, Spitzer said more than 2.5 million residents across the state are uninsured – including 400,000 children.
In a transcript of his address to an Albany think tank, Spitzer said among his top priorities is making sure the state’s investment in the health care system goes to people, not to institutions.
His proposals include expanding the state’s Child Health Plus program so that every family in New York will be able to provide their children with health insurance.
Spitzer said his plan will save New York taxpayers billions of dollars while lowering health care costs and improving patient care.
