NEW YORK (Dow Jones)–U.S. President George W. Bush and top congressional Democrats have agreed to create a bipartisan working group on Iraq, Cable News Network reported Tuesday.
According to the report, Bush met with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., to create a bipartisan working group to improve dialogue on Iraq, as well as the broader war on terror.
According to CNN, the group will hold its first meeting next week, with Pelosi, Reid, and high-ranking lawmakers from both the Republican and Democratic parties.
CNN also said Bush is to meet Wednesday with Pelosi and a group of U.S. lawmakers who recently returned from a fact-finding mission to Iraq.
